Experimental Animals- Miroslav Holub
It goes easier with rabbits than with dogs or cats. an experimental animal should not be too intelligent. It is uncomfortable when its actions resemble those of humans, it is uncomfortable when you can understand its terror and sadness.
But the saddest thing is to work with newborn pigs.
They are ugly.
They don’t possess or want anything beside their spring of milk.
Their hard and awkward legs buckle underneath them, their snouts and tiny hoofs are extraordinarily useless.
they are ugly and stupid.
When I have to kill a piglet I always pause for a while.
About fix or six seconds.
About five or six seconds in the name of all the beauty and sadness of the world.
- Get on with it, – someone says then.
Or I say it myself.

Is that the poet whose works you had at the NDSU library last year, when I was working on statistics?
Astounding, excellent stuff. Thanks.

Same guy. I’m more and more happy with his work all the time.
